Common questions

Before we begin.

If something here raises more questions than it answers, that's welcome too. We can talk it through together.

Still wondering if we're a fit?

Free consultation
What happens in the free consultation?+

It's a relaxed 15–20 minute call — no cost and no pressure. We talk through what's bringing you in, what you're hoping for, and how I work, so you can get a feel for whether we're a good fit. You're welcome to ask anything. If it feels right, we'll talk about next steps; if not, that's completely okay.

How do I know which type of therapy or method to choose?+

You don't have to choose — that part is mine to hold. I use a variety of methods based on each client's goals, needs, and personality, and I weave them together as our work unfolds. You bring what matters to you; I bring the approaches that fit it. Nothing is fixed in advance, and we stay responsive to what's actually helping.

Do you meet online, and where are you licensed?+

Yes — sessions are held online, from wherever you feel most at home. I'm licensed to work with clients located in Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois.

How often should we meet, and for how long?+

I most often encourage two 75-minute sessions a week. When sessions are short and a week apart, each one can get spent re-opening a new concern and settling back down, so the deeper work rarely gets room to move. Meeting at least twice a week for longer than 60 minutes lets us stay with one thread and follow it through — far more productive than stopping and restarting.

That said, we'll find the rhythm that fits your life and capacity. Sessions range from 30 to 90 minutes, and we can adjust as we go.

What are your fees?+

To keep this work accessible, I offer flexible, prorated session lengths: 90 minutes ($150), 75 minutes ($125), 60 minutes ($100), 45 minutes ($75), and 30 minutes ($50). You're welcome to choose the length that fits your emotional, energetic, and financial capacity. The full breakdown lives on the Fees page.

Do you take insurance?+

I do accept some insurance, and that billing is handled through Alma rather than by me directly. The fees listed on this site are private-pay rates for services not submitted to insurance. If you use insurance for a covered traditional therapy session, your cost is based on your plan's contracted rate and benefits. You can read more on the Fees page.

What is Brainspotting?+

Brainspotting is a mindfulness-focused, body-based therapy that helps access and process emotional experiences held beneath conscious awareness. Using eye position, body awareness, and focused attention, it reaches past the verbal mind to where experiences are actually stored. Many people are drawn to it when insight has brought understanding but they're ready for a deeper level of change. There's a full, in-depth explanation on the Brainspotting page.

Is this spiritual or religious?+

Spirituality and intuition are welcome here, in an inclusive, non-religious way. That can mean something mystical, something simply meaningful to you, or nothing of the kind — it's entirely led by what feels true to you. This is an affirming, open space, and you never have to hold any particular belief to do this work.

Do I need art experience for the SoulCollage® group?+

Not at all. There's no right or wrong way to make a card, and no skill required — just a few simple materials and your own curiosity. The process itself is the practice: noticing what you're drawn to and what it has to say. You can read about the six-week class on the Groups page.

What are therapy intensives?+

Intensives are extended, focused sessions for concentrated work on a single concern — built on the same idea as meeting more often: continuity and time are what let real change take hold, rather than stopping and restarting each week. They're private-pay services and aren't submitted to insurance, Alma, or any third-party payer.

How long will I be in therapy?+

It depends on what you're working with and what you're hoping for — there's no fixed timeline. Some people come for focused work on a specific concern; others stay longer for deeper, ongoing growth. We'll check in along the way about what's helping and what you need, and you're always in the lead.

How do we get started?+

The simplest first step is to request a free 15–20 minute consultation. From there, if it feels like a fit, we'll schedule your first session and decide together on a rhythm that supports the work. You're welcome to reach out with any questions before then.

Still have a question?

A free 15–20 minute consultation is the easiest way to ask anything on your mind and see whether we're a good fit.
