What is Guided Inner Awareness Therapy?

Guided Inner Awareness Therapy is an experiential approach that draws on heart-centered hypnotherapy or guided relaxation meditation, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). This therapeutic journey invites you into a meditative state that supports access to your subconscious mind, allowing you to gently connect with deeper aspects of yourself—protective parts, younger or vulnerable parts, and core beliefs that may quietly influence your actions and feelings. Through this relaxed, subconscious state, we explore significant personal moments and memories along your inner timeline, helping to heal the connections between past experiences and present behaviors. This process nurtures peace, self-awareness, and a sense of empowerment that supports growth in the present.

 

What to Expect

During a session, we’ll work together to create a warm, safe space for self-exploration and healing. Here’s what you can expect:

Beginning Our Journey

​We start with a foundational practice of guided meditation, creating a personal safe space for you within this journey. Together, we explore how to establish a visual sense of safety in therapy by connecting with different parts of yourself through a calm, guided meditation. Gradually, as you build familiarity and comfort, we begin to explore deeper aspects of yourself, including any inner child work that may need gentle attention and healing.

This process is collaborative and moves at your pace, combining Internal Family Systems (IFS) sessions, experiential process work, education, and guided meditation. The guided sessions occur every 2-3 sessions on average, depends on client goals, allowing us time to process and  traditional therapy. With this approach, you’re not only discussing issues but are actively connecting with core aspects of yourself in a way that addresses both past influences and present needs.

Together, we’ll look at how patterns of beliefs and past experiences have shaped your current reality, bringing clarity to how these influences play out in your daily life. After each session, I provide a personalized meditation for you to listen to over the following weeks, supporting your continued healing and integration of the insights you’ve gained.

Gentle Relaxation and Guided Imagery

We begin with calming techniques, often using visualization or progressive relaxation to ease you into a peaceful state. In this meditative space, you are fully aware and in control, yet able to release everyday worries, making space for deeper exploration.

Connecting with Your Inner Child and Protective Aspects

Often, our journey will involve meeting younger or protective parts of yourself, which may carry certain beliefs, or emotions shaped by significant past moments. In a compassionate and supportive way, we’ll explore these aspects, allowing you to understand and gently release outdated patterns. You’ll have the opportunity to offer compassion, reassurance, and acceptance to these parts of yourself, harmonizing them with your nurturing, adult self.

Nurturing Presence of Your Higher Self

Through this guided experience, we’ll call upon your higher self—a wise, compassionate, and deeply nurturing aspect within you. This presence will guide you in bringing calm and reassurance to the parts of you that need it most, helping you navigate challenges with self-compassion and grace.

Empowering Positive Change

Each session is designed to support your release of limiting beliefs or negative patterns, replacing them with insights and affirmations aligned with your goals. Together, we’ll reinforce empowering beliefs, guiding you toward resilience, self-compassion, and greater confidence.

Reinforcement through the week

At the end of each session, we’ll reinforce positive insights with practical tools you can use in daily life. These may include specific words, gestures, or visualizations that reconnect you with your inner strength, becoming anchors you can rely on to maintain your peace and resilience.

After our guided session, I provide a personalized meditation created just for you, uniquely tailored to support and deepen your healing journey. This meditation is designed around the insights and experiences from our work together, offering you a meaningful tool to continue connecting with your inner self beyond our session.
