Individual Intensives: A Deeper Way to Work Together
Sometimes, one hour just isn't enough.
Sometimes life calls for more time, space, or support than a weekly therapy session can offer. Intensives create a flexible, focused container to meet you where you are — whether you're navigating a transition, feeling overwhelmed, or simply wanting to go deeper at your own pace
What Is an Individual Intensive?
An individual intensive is a longer, one-on-one therapy session — or a short series of sessions — designed to offer more spacious and focused support than the traditional weekly model.
Sessions are typically 2.5 hours long. You can choose to meet once, twice, or up to three times a week, for anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks, based on your needs and availability.
This format may be supportive if you're:
-
Looking to work at a steadier pace without long gaps between sessions
-
Moving through a time of transition, grief, or inner uncertainty
-
Feeling stuck and want time to explore more deeply
-
Starting therapy and hoping to establish a strong foundation quicker
There’s no need to “catch me up on your week” — we stay grounded in what’s most present and important, right where you are.
Why Choose an Intensive Format?
Compared to weekly therapy, intensives offer a consistent rhythm that can help you stay engaged with the work in a different way.
Some potential benefits include:
-
More time and space to notice patterns and reflect
-
Greater continuity from session to session
-
A client workbook with prompts, practices, and reflections
-
Flexibility to incorporate mind-body-spirit tools more naturally
-
A supportive entry point for those wanting to build early momentum
-
Room to explore parts of yourself that may need extra care and time
While outcomes vary, research suggests that condensed therapy formats can be effective for many people — especially when adapted to their unique needs and circumstances.
What Might We Work On?
Each intensive is shaped around your needs, interests, and emotional readiness. A few themes we might explore include:
-
Getting to know and build a relationship with protective parts
-
Accessing and connecting with your inner child
-
Heart Centered Hypnotherapy (age regression/past life) or Personalized Guided Meditations
-
Working with your inner critic (s) and cultivating self-compassion
-
Exploring parts that hold fear, shame, grief, or anger
-
Calming your nervous system and learning body-based practices
-
Themed meditative sessions with personalized guidance
-
EFT tapping to support emotional regulation
-
Shadow work and deeper archetypal integration
-
SoulCollage®, therapeutic writing, and image-based exploration
We may design a custom theme-based intensive (such as Self-Trust, Inner Soothing, or Navigating a Life Transition), or simply use the time to follow what arises in the moment.

❓ FAQ
Q: What if I have insurance — will it cover therapy intensives? Can I still do it?
A: Not in the same way. Insurance typically only covers standard 1-hour sessions and usually limits you to one session per day. Because intensives are longer (2.5 hours per session), they aren’t usually covered under insurance plans.
However, if you'd like to engage in more frequent support, some insurance plans may cover two 1-hour sessions per week (as long as they’re on separate days). This could be a more accessible option if you’d like to move through therapy at a steadier or more focused pace for a short period of time. It will also need to be "medically necessary" in order for insurance to cover it.
I recommend calling your insurance provider to ask if this is possible with your current plan. My billing company will not make this call, so please call the number on the back of your card, and you can ask the following questions:
-
Can I attend two one-hour sessions per week for a limited time?
-
Will both be covered if they are on different days?
-
Are there any limits to the number of sessions I can have per week or year?

A Note on Expectations
While intensives can offer powerful insight and momentum, they aren’t a quick fix, and they’re not meant to be. There are no guarantees, as this process depends on your engagement, your readiness, and the reality that we’re often working with long-standing patterns that unfold over time.
The goal isn’t to eliminate all anxiety or fix everything that feels hard. Instead, it’s about learning how to be in relationship with yourself in a new, more compassionate way—one that allows for greater understanding, inner steadiness, and the ability to navigate life with more awareness and care.
